Jun.-Prof. Dr. Trottner contributes extensive experience and expertise in mathematical statistics, machine learning, and stochastic processes and will enrich our institute in both teaching and research.
He received his doctorate from the University of Mannheim (2021), after which he joined Aarhus University as a postdoctoral researcher. In September 2024, he joined the University of Birmingham as an assistant professor of statistics.
His research focuses on generative models, data-driven stochastic optimal control, concentration of measure and Lévy processes, and Markov additive processes.
