Mathematician opens anniversary celebrations of Ludwigs-Maximilians-University in Munich with keynote speech

In 2022, the LMU, Munich, will be 550 years old. There will be a series of celebrations to mark the occasion. Christian Hesse will give the opening lecture entitled "Measuring Risk - A Mathematical View of Bad Luck, Luck and Chance.

The Munich University Society, which will be 100 years old in the same year, will open the series with a Science Day on the topic of "The greatest risks of our time" on April 23, 2022. The lectures will take place in the Audimax and Lichthof of the LMU.

Speakers include Melanie Brinkmann (pandemics), Harald Lesch (asteroids and meteorites), Peter Neumann (terrorism), Hans-Werner Sinn (the destruction of the inflation brake), Koko Warner (migration).
