Mathematician opens final round of Dortmund International Chess Days

The International Dortmund Chess Days are THE cult event in the worldwide chess scene. From July 16 - 24, 2022, they took place for the 49th time in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle.

The highlights were the NC World Masters Tournament and the Germany Grand Prix with several hundred players from all over the world. Christian Hesse was honored to make the symbolic first move in the final round of the World Masters in the match between his long-time friend, 5-time World Champion Viswanathan Anand from India, and British Super Grandmaster Michael Adams.
